Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH today announced the launch of its HALion Player OEM software for PCs and Macs. Tailored to meet the needs of sample content producers, HALion Player OEM provides all the advantages of the next generation HALion sampler platform, and represents a new bundled player instrument for sample content.
Offering the famed sound quality and copy protection facilities of the HALion sampler platform, HALion Player OEM is the ideal OEM player for inclusion with sample content libraries. For the first time, a sample player product is available as an OEM version that gives full copy protection for any sample content it is provided with, utilizing the latest generation of Steinberg's USB-based copy protection system. This gives sample content producers the same strong yet unobtrusive copy protection as featured in the latest version of Steinberg's professional Cubase SX3, Nuendo 3 and HALion 3 audio products.
HALion Player OEM is based around the same advanced HALion sampling engine that powers Steinberg's award-winning HALion 3.1 virtual sampling instrument. Innovative features such as the new Q-Controls allow sample content creators to define and create the
parameters necessary for the end customer to form and shape sounds through the intuitive user interface. HALion Player OEM also features a custom GUI tailored to the sample product, blending in to the design of the sample library product.
"With HALion Player OEM, sample content manufacturers can take advantage of a proven, professional platform that offers not just a
great-sounding playback engine for their content, but also investment protection and outstanding flexibility," comments Lars-Oliver Meding, Steinberg's Sales Manager for OEM Business. "The first sample library products featuring this exciting new OEM product are already on display here at NAMM, and we're confident that more and more sample content companies will be offering products with HALion Player OEM this year," continues Meding.
