SoulSeek has never become a massive file sharing community which many consider to be beneficial as they are not at the receiving end of so many lawsuits. It also means that the music available tends to be more alternative or independent, therefore making SoulSeek a good way to discover new artists and bands which is the major benefit of p2p networks.
