The History of AudioMelody

AudioMelody has been online since its humble beginnings in 1999. The name has changed, the software has changed, and the industry has changed. This is how we came into existence.

Welcome to AudioMelody

AudioMelody, based in the UK, is a website that has been online, in some shape or form, since 1999, and has always provided free and open source audio software for download. This section has grown and grown over the years, and with constant updates, has emerged into a library of over 100 pieces of software. The downloads have been featured all across the internet from Yahoo and About.com, to various indie sites, and has even been featured in Sound on Sound Magazine.

In addition to the downloads section, we introduced a forum, and a small tutorials section in 2001, with tutorials created both in-house and by some renowned external authors. Although this section has remained quite small, the quality of the tutorials has always been the main concern.

The site was finally moved over to be dynamic and database driven in 2003, and with this advancement came the introduction of articles and news sections to the site. Although old news has been lost in the transition to the latest incarnation of AudioMelody, the articles remain, and both sections are set to grow rapidly within the next few months.

The latest look and feel of the site, and in our opinion, the best look and feel, came in May 2004, with an upgrade to version 3 of our back-end software. We made use of the downtime by remaking a pretty front for you guys too.

AudioMelody are also currently looking for other successful websites in fields relating to music production, from sample sites to CD distributers, to make a network (currently called the Melodic Network), and give the users a greater grasp of all sections of the industry.
